Concrete Polishing Kochi

Concrete Polishing Service

Polished concrete or densified concrete is a result of the massive leaps made in the field of diamond tooling and chemicals. If you are looking for tough, durable, cost-effective and low maintenance floors that are also pleasant and appealing to look at, you can opt for polished or densified concrete. Aesthetically appealing, simple, inexpensive, and low maintenance, the construction industry has benefited much from the research in this technology.

Professional Polished Concrete Floors for Commercial and Industrial Buildings

Polished concrete floors have become popular because of their low cost, low maintenance, glossy finish and clean appearance. To get the perfect mirror-like surface over the concrete flooring, heavy-duty polishing machines are used. They are fitted with abrasive disks which perform grinding on surfaces up to the required degree of reflectiveness and smoothness. For effective grinding, diamond tools are embedded in them. The coarseness of these disks is sufficient to remove dents, pits, deformities, stains, films, or light coatings from the floor. To vary the level of polish and finish of the final smoothing, we change the type of diamond grit used in the machine. With Namra Tech’s polished concrete services in Kerala, you can attain matte or glossy sheen for your industrial and commercial flooring. Our polished concrete experts use state-of-the-art equipment for grinding and polishing concrete with highly specialized techniques.

Benefits of Concrete Polishing

The best kind of polishing work is one that brings out the natural beauty of the concrete. Our professional concrete polishing experts are familiar with the exact chemical process followed for best results. Each floor gains a unique color, pattern and stunning beauty once the flooring experts finish up their polishing process.

1. Low Maintenance

Polished concrete floors do not require special cleaning tools and products, or expensive routine maintenance. An occasional mopping is all that’s required to keep the floor clean. Since labor-intensive stripping and waxing, and grout restoration processes are not needed, both labor and materials can be saved.

2. Cost-Effective

There is a three-pronged advantage to polishing your concrete floor: one, the installation cost is affordable when compared to the expense of adding a new floor. Second, polished concrete needs little to no maintenance. Because of the high reflectivity of polished concrete floors, your space gets a bright and clean look. This avoids costly overhead lighting, reducing the electricity bill.

3. Visually Appealing

Do you want decorative flourishes on your flooring? Do you want to color-dye your concrete surfaces? A range of finishes and colors can be attained through polishing. From glossy to matte, each floor is made to appear one-of-a-kind, and expertly finished to expose beautiful aggregates. Customize your floors with the decorative finishing and stains of your choice.

4. Environmentally Friendly

We work on the existing concrete slab that you already have built through a thorough grinding process. Polished concrete from Namra Tech has no volatile organic compounds and does not produce hazardous waste. Our floor treatment products do not include any coatings such as waxes, urethanes, or epoxies. As a result, they are environmentally friendly.

5. No waxing and stripping

These floors are easy to clean and maintain and eliminate the need for messy waxes or coatings.

6. Increased strength

The chemical hardeners used in the polishing process seep into the concrete base, strengthening and hardening it in the process. As such, polished concrete is strong, dustproof and easy to clean.

7. Highly durable and Fire Resistant

With Namra Tech’s services, you will not need new floor coverings or regular replacement of worn out floors. Since it even eliminates tire marks that usually spoil the look of any floor, they last long at a fraction of the maintenance cost.

8. Aesthetic Appeal

Visually appealing finish and design that combines the appearance and smoothness of expensive stones with the elegance and uniqueness of a natural stone.

9. Professional Appearance

Because of its high light reflectivity, polished concrete projects a bright, clean, and professional image that is important to many retailers, industries, and other public facilities.

The Concrete Polishing Process

Polishing concrete is similar to sanding wood, except in this case, heavy-duty polishing machines are used in place of sandpaper. These machines are equipped with grits of diamond-embedded segments or disks. These disks grind down surfaces to the level of shine and smoothness desired.

1. Grinding

To remove pits, stains, and coatings, coarse diamond segments are used to grind the floor. It takes about three to four steps to prepare the surface for the final smoothing. Using 25, 80, and 150 grit metal bond tools, the concrete is ground initially.

2. Application of Stains and Densifier

An internal impregnating sealer can be applied during the polishing process that penetrates into the concrete. A chemical densifier is applied over the concrete until the floor is saturated with it. It acts as a protective hardener and densifier for the concrete. This eliminates the need for a topical coating, which reduces maintenance significantly. The ground concrete surface is then left undisturbed so that it works to harden it. At this stage, stains of any color might be added as desired to give the floor a decorated look.

3. Honing

The polishing process is continued with resin bond tools of finer grit, such as 100 and 200. Our polishing crew is experienced and aware of the grit to be chosen at each step simply by observing the floor surface. If more material needs to be removed, the grit is used accordingly. Similarly, if a high-gloss finish is required, a grit of 1500 or even finer can be applied.

4. Polishing

This process of using fine grits consisting of diamond abrasives embedded in a plastic or resin matrix is called lapping. This step is continued until the floor gets the desired finish. Progressively using resin bond tools upward of 800 until 3000 grit, the floor shines like a mirror.

5. Completion

This phase might require some final touches using a burnishing pad. Spreading a commercial polishing compound or sealer onto the surface completes the polishing process and offers the full sheen. With this step, a top coating is no longer required and leaves a dirt-resistant finish.
